We Gotta Get Out of this Place - The Animals
There is a super long story here but make it short…I loved this song as a young man working away at editing job on a very bad magazine. We all knew that mag was crap and every Friday a la Cheers we got together at a local bar and sang this one. I had that feeling about my work matters today….the other part of the long story is I got the chance through that crappy mag to interview Alan Price who was doing the score for Oh Lucky Man at that point…we hit it off and recently as I now reside on this side of the pond, met up with him in his garage where he has piles of songs and to his delight are often easily used for soundtracks on commercials. whew…I’m still too wordy….cheers now from the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner selection for a Tuesday!
